Andrea D. Mitnick, Introduction

Andrea D. Mitnick is a senior consultant with the Center for Generational Studies and a seasoned educator with more than 35 years in the classroom. She is also an associate professor at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she teaches presentation skills, public relations techniques, crisis communication, as well as leadership communication. She received her Ph.D. in rhetoric and communication from Temple University, and her research on a wide range of topics has been published in both journals and textbooks. She has presented more than twenty-one juried papers at national and international conferences since arriving at Kutztown University in 1995.

A Fullbright Scholar, Dr. Mitnick has lived and lectured in Switzerland. She has taught crisis communication in Moscow. A veteran of two cruises aboard Semester at Sea, she taught intercultural communication and leadership development among 600 students and 22 faculty as they sailed around the world.

An experienced researcher and speaker on age diversity, Dr. Mitnick recently co-authored a groundbreaking study on the generational transition taking place in the construction trades with The Center for Labor Education and Research at the University of Kentucky.
